ChopSizzlePop! is about claiming a life you love and living it fully.
We are a husband and wife team, and we love food. Several years ago, our lives were turned upside down. We lost our sweet little boy to an incurable condition and everything we knew changed forever.
After facing our fears, much self-discovery, and many tears—we decided that the only way to carry on was to rebuild our lives around things that we love. So we created a place where we could follow our hearts and go for our dreams. That place is ChopSizzlePop!
We launched ChopSizzlePop! with a 10-week working farm tour through Northern Italy. We lived with families, cooked at a gourmet B&B, harvested olives, produced organic wine by hand, and made stinky cheese. This trip was our way of taking back some control and going on an adventure.
After Italy, we headed to New Orleans to learn about the cuisine and culture of the Bayou. You can follow our experiences by browsing our blog posts, Chef Recs, mini-webisodes, and recipes.
Through these food adventures, we learned that recommendations from chefs and food experts were pure gold. They led us off beaten paths and to spots only available to those “in the know.” It was here that we began to taste life again. We figured that if these mouthwatering recommendations meant so much to us, perhaps they will mean a lot to you too. You can find them on our “Chef Bests” tab. ChopSizzlePop! also offers expert recipes, exclusive chef interviews, mini-webisodes, and blog posts that feed your food IQ.
As a writing and photography duo, our goal is to bring food to life. In addition to sinking our teeth into ChopSizzlePop! we recently released a children’s picture book inspired by our son TJ, The Gift of the Ladybug, which was ranked #1 Mover & Shaker and #2 Hottest New Children’s Book by Amazon.com. We also write and shoot for the “Worth the Trip” department at Edible Columbus magazine and the “Food & Wine” column at Accent Magazine. You can also see more of Troy’s photography at TLAstudio.
If you are on a quest for a life that you love, savor life through your taste buds or simply want expert recipes, recommendations and other foodie info—you have come to the right place. We hope you enjoy the goodies on our website and be sure to sign-up for our weekly email updates to have insider food scoop delivered right to your inbox.
