Christmas Cappelletti

Christmas Cappelletti

Christmas, what a wonderful time of the year.

There is a special tradition taking place in homes across Northern Italy this holiday season—making Cappelletti in Brodo. This tiny pasta is shaped like belly buttons, filled with meat and served in broth.

Families members gather, young and old, to get their hands white with flour and prepare the best part of Christmas dinner.

It is not a quick affair, but that is half of the fun. Century old rolling pins are cleaned, sausage is boiled for days and pasta is cut and filled.

The Italian version of making Christmas cookies. Delicious.
