Farms Stays-Edible Columbus-Manchester Hill

Manchester Hill

Happy 4th of July!

In celebration of the holiday, we are posting our Edible Columbus article featuring the farm stay phenomenon. Farm stays—or staying overnight on a working farm—are taking America by storm as a unique vacation option for the whole family.

I’m personally in love with farm stays, mostly because the food is AMAZING. Fresh from the farm, local, and grown with love.

Troy and I went to Manchester Hill to conduct research for this article. Manchester Hill is a charming farm and winery located about 10 minutes from Hocking Hills in Circleville. Owners Jenie and Patrick McGrath are fabulous.

Kale Raab

My favorite part was picking kale raab, available that day only (and enjoying it with Patrick’s grilled duck).

Be sure to pick up your Summer 2012 issue of Edible Columbus for thoughtful articles on farming, bright summer recipes, and tips for cooking from the farmers markets.
