Unlike any other film festival, the New York City Food Film Festival is “like a dream” according to ABC News. From our perspective, it is a thrilling ride. Countless tastes, 38 films, six events, five days, and a ton of fun—the food film festival is not to be missed. Troy and I spent 10 days experiencing the festival from the inside.
-Food porn star Larry Cauldwell
-On the fly presentations to 150 culinary students
-Sharing ramen with Chef Shimamoto (see post)
-Sipping 8 singe malts from Islay (fav: Ardbeg)
-Watching a pig butchered on stage
-Attending our first Lowcountry oyster roast
-Tasting flavors of Chefs Michael Romano, Tadashi Ono, Francois Payard, and Bill Telepan
Throughout this whirlwind of activity, we also managed to fall in love with NYC and make great new friends.
For Chicago food lovers, the festival is coming your way November 15-17. Do yourself a favor and get tickets here.
